 EVENTS SAILING CRUISING PROGRAM

JANUARY TO JUNE 2025

 

Please have your VHF radio on 73 so we can communciate on the water.

DEPENDING ON the WEATHER including wind CONDITIONS ON THE DAY THE SAILING event listed COULD BE SHORTENED and/or CHANGED.

This would be advised over the VHF radio channel 73.

Note: Sailing events are cancelled if BOM has forecast a strong wind warning.

 

WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

By entering YSC events all boat owners, skippers and each crew member hereby jointly and severalty release and hereby indemnify the Yaringa Sailing Club inc. from all sums of money accounts actions proceedings claims demands costs and expenses whatsoever which any of them jointly or severalty at any time have in respect of our event or in respect of any act cause matter or thing arising from this event.

As skipper/boat owners, understand that the decision whether or not to participate in an event is yours and whether your boat is and its crew are capable of handling the conditions on the day is your responsibility.

You are responsible at all times for your boat and all the people on board.

Sunday 1st Jan NEW YEARS DAY (Public Holiday)

Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th January SPECIAL KEEL BOATS ONLY EVENT.

SAIL TO FLINDERS jetty area STAY OVERNIGHT

TIDES Saturday YARINGA H 9.47am, L 4.04pm, H 11.42pm

CRUISE TO FAIRHAVEN BEACH  from the north via middle channel for lunch stop.

BYO PICNIC food & drink.

Sunday 26th Jan-Australia Day (Public Holiday)

FEBRUARY 2025

Sail to SANDY POINT for a picnic lunch.

Note:A rubber dingy will be available to take people ashore

This is a BYO Picnic Food & Drink event.

TIDES Yaringa High 9.19am Low 3.39pm, H 11.16pm

LEAVE YARINGA 10am

Friday 21st Feb

TWILIGHT SAIL OUT FROM YARINGA FOLLOWED BY A BYO BBQ AT THE CLUB

The event will involve a short sail out from Yaringa leaving at 4.30pm returning about 7.00pm for a club bbq tea.

The coordinator for the Twilight sail & bbq is Matthew Lutter Vice Commodore YSC

BYO BBQ FOOD AND DRINK

TIDE Yaringa L 1.15pm, H 7.55pm

LEAVE Yaringa Marina 4.30pm

STAY O/N  ON BOATS AT MARINA then sail to Blakes Channel CRUISE NEXT DAY staying O/N at anchor.

Saturday 22nd Sunday 23rd Feb

OVERNIGHT CRUISE TO BLAKES CHANNEL

Tides Yaringa Sat 22 Feb H 7.33am, L 1.47pm, H 8.39pm

Tides Yaringa Sun 23 Feb H 8.07am, L 2.21pm, H 9.30pm

LEAVE YARINGA Sat 9.30am

(We  need to enter Blakes Channel just after low tide on a rising tide.)

if you wish to go ashore on French Island you may need a dinghy.

 

MARCH 2025

Saturday 8th March

TIDES Sat YARINGA H 7.25am, L 1.39pm, H8.47pm

Tides over the weekend would  suit an overnight stay at Rhyll -event not currently a planned.

Monday 10th March -Labour Day

Saturday 23rd March

SAIL TO TORTOISE HEAD COVE for a picnic lunch on the beach.

A WATER TAXI RUBBER DUCKY WILL TAKE PEOPLE ASHORE

Hopefully Mat from "Shiraz" can provide the water taxi using his dinghy.

BYO picnic lunch and drinks

TWILIGHT SAIL followed by BYO bbq DINNER  at club building

CRUISE TO WARNEET

For BYO bbq LUNCH Buy drinks at the club bar.

JUNE 2025

Sat 21st June

CRUISE TO HASTINGS MARINA FOLLOWED BY LUNCH AT THE MARINA HOTEL

Day marina berths maybe available at no cost to YSC members. Howard Kinns to arrange.

TIDE Yaringa H 7.58am, L 1.15pm, H 7.55pm

LEAVE YARINGA MARINA 9.30AM

 

MID WEEK SAILING EVENTS WILL BE ADDED ON AN AS NEEDS BASIS and information on these events will be circulated a day or two before the sailing activity. Trips could include a sail to Hastings Jetty, a sail into Chickory Lane and also to Tooradin.
